Notes

This is the first major British revival of Henceforward… since its award-winning London premiere at the Vaudeville Theatre in 1988; it has been revived elsewhere in the world with success and Alan’s decision to revive it followed a particularly successful year-long run in Hamburg during 2015.
Alan Ayckbourn originally intended to revive Things We Do For Love before changing the revival to Henceforward….
For the original production in 1987, the climatic piece of music was composed by Paul Todd on a very rare Synclavier, valued at £250,000. For the revival, the music has been composed by Alan Ayckbourn himself using just his Mac computer. How technology has changed!
To reflect the changes in technology since it was written, Alan Ayckbourn has made some cosmetic revisions to the play regarding technology.
