Notes

Consuming Passions is a single play consisting of two parts - Premonitions and Repercussions - which can be performed either separately or together. As it is a single play though, both parts need to be seen either together or in the correct order for the story to make sense.
The plays were written with the intention of being performed in The Bistro (formally The Restaurant) at the Stephen Joseph Theatre. Alan Ayckbourn has always been a fan of lunchtime performances in this space and was disappointed when the former Artistic Director Chris Monks largely decided to move them to The McCarthy (thus defeating the point of a lunchtime play where in the restaurant you can have lunch…).
Although each part was initially performed separately in The Bistro, the complete play was performed later in the season in The McCarthy.
