Notes

Laughton was inspired by the life of the actor Charles Laughton, who was born in Scarborough and whose brother - Tom - played a significant role in supporting the Stephen Joseph Theatre In The Round during the 1970s and 1980s.
It marked the first production at the Stephen Joseph Theatre directed by Artistic Director Chris Monks in 10 months, following a sabbatical from the SJT.
The script was substantially altered during the course of rehearsals with considerable input from the actors and the Associate Director.
