Notes

A Brief History of Women covers the largest period of time of any Ayckbourn play with it following the live of a man over sixty years of his life.
It was the first full-length Alan Ayckbourn play to be commissioned by the SJT's new Artistic Director Paul Robinson; originally Alan had proposed a play called A Case Of Missing Women but replaced it with an entirely different play.
A Brief History Of Women transferred to the Brits Off Broadway festival in New York at the 59E59 Theaters from 26 April - 27 May, 2018, with the original company directed by Alan Ayckbourn. It broke the exiting record for the most theatre-goers attending an SJT production at the festival with 6,300 people.
